Hungary and Croatia welcome you
The Women's EHF EURO 2014 will be co-hosted by Hungary and Croatia.
One of the most popular sports in these countries is handball. Both of the countries have a lot of fans supporting this spectacular and attractive sport.
The countries' women's and men's national teams are part of the world's top squads. The Hungarian women's national team won gold at the EHF European Championship 2000 and has claimed another three bronze medals in 1998, 2004, and most recently in 2012. Croatia finished among the top 10 during most of their EHF EURO event participations.
The host countries have vast experiences in hosting international handball tournaments. Hungary organised the Women's EHF European Championship in 2004, while Croatia welcomed the top teams for the Men's EHF European Championship in 2000, the Women's World Championship in 2003 and the Men's World Championship in 2009.
Most recently, in summer 2014, Croatia hosted the Women's Junior World Championship.
It means that Hungary and Croatia will guarantee a colourful and entertaining experience for the audience conveying a special championship spirit in 2014.
Overall 16 nations will participate at the Women's EHF EURO 2014. The two hosts are directly qualified and will be joined by fourteen teams that will qualify from seven qualification groups. The final tournament takes place from 7 to 21 December 2014.
